Jeffrey W. Varcadipane recovered $1,850,000 in assets for an injured client who had secured a judgment in excess of $20 million following a hit-and-run automobile accident. After the judgment was entered, Mr. Varcadipane was retained by one of the nation’s largest Plaintiff’s firms to enforce the judgment. He quickly located real estate assets that had been transferred among related family members while the underlying action was pending. Mr. Varcadipane filed an action against all parties to the transfers under New York’s Fraudulent Conveyance Act and was able to place liens on the properties. After securing summary judgment against that the conveyances were, in fact, made with the actual intent to defraud the injured client, Mr. Varcadipane was able to recover nearly all of the judgment debtor’s equity interest in the properties totaling $1,850,000.
